Childress Regional Medical Center

Fifty years ago Childress County commissioners convinced residents to create a hospital district, pass a bond election and build a new hospital. By 1970 the 75 bed Childress General Hospital had been completed and was sitting on a hill at the western edge of town. The building was modern and equipped with the latest technology to provide medical care for the community of 9,000 residents.
